Jun. 14-15, Shanghai – Information Officer Felix Salazar, Media Assistant Abby Fang, and summer hire Daniel Wolff interviewed Chinese wrestlers participating for a selective spot on World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) exclusive training program in the U.S.; and then attended the WWE press conference during which the first Chinese national to earn a development contract was officially announced. WWE’s highest paid wrestler, John Cena, opened the event in Mandarin Chinese, and semi-retired and current WWE Executive Vice President Paul “Triple H” Levesque introduced the rising Chinese star to over 40 media representatives. WWE also announced a broadcasting deal with Chinese streaming media firm PPTV to air “Raw” and “SmackDown” in China.
