Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced the return of U.S. beef to Shanghai and the rest of China during a cooking demonstration at Shanghai’s premier IAPM City’Super grocery store. Perdue noted the pride American cattle farmers feel in being able to once again provide Chinese consumers with high quality beef. Celebrity chef and Wisconsin native Austin Hu joined the Secretary as the two cooked up a ribeye steak with honey mustard salsa. Five lucky shoppers got to enjoy the tasty meal while 23 reporters representing 17 media outlets including WSJ, Bloomberg, and CCTV, looked on. After a brief tour of the store, during which the Secretary met with distributors of U.S. lobster, beef, pork, cherries, cheese, and nuts, Perdue sat for pull aside interviews with WSJ, Bloomberg, and China Business News.
