Non-immigrant Visas

The Consulate primarily processes non-immigrant visas for applicants who normally reside in Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang, but also accepts applications from elsewhere in China, with no restrictions based on household registration (户口).

How to Apply for a Visa

U.S. visa application services will be provided to visa applicants by our authorized partner, www.ustraveldocs.com.

For more information about the visa application process, paying the visa application fee online, and scheduling an appointment, please visit the visa application website. If you have received a U.S. visa in the last five years, you may be eligible to renew your visa without an interview through our newly expanded CITIC drop-box service.  Applicants under 14 and over 80 years of age are also eligible for this service.

www.ustraveldocs.com is the only company that the U.S. Consulate General authorizes to provide visa information and visa application services.  The U.S. Consulate General does not endorse or have a “special relationship” with any other individual or business that offers advice or assistance with the visa process. No one can guarantee the issuance of a visa to you. All U.S. government forms are free.

Beware — many visa applicants lose money or are permanently barred from the United States as a result of misleading information and fraudulent applications provided by visa consultants.

Getting to the Consular Section

U.S. Consulate General Shenyang’s Consular Section (Non-Immigrant Visas & American Citizen Services) is located at 185 Qingnian Avenue, Maoye Tiandi Shopping Mall, 5th Floor, Shenhe District, 110014 Shenyang (Subway: get off at Line #2 Shitushuguan Stop, take Exit B).

Security Regulations

No electronic and metal items are allowed to be brought into the Consulate compound, including knives, lighters, laptops, PDAs, cell phones, cameras, etc. Luggage and bags may not be brought into the Consulate.  Food, drinks, and tobacco products are also not allowed inside the Consulate.

All visitors and visa applicants must bring their ID when they enter the U.S. Consulate. Applicants younger than 18 years of age should bring their household registration (户口) document. Consulate security staff will not permit applicants to enter the Consulate without a valid ID.

One parent may accompany his or her child under 14 years of age for the child’s visa interview but must present their household registration (户口) document. In cases where both a parent and child under 14 years of age are applying for a visa at the same time, it is not necessary for the child to appear for the interview as long as the parent brings in the child’s application documents.
