March 15, Shanghai – The Shanghai Public Affairs Section participated in a mission-wide press conference via DVC to announce the forthcoming Electronic Visa Update System. CBP attaché Kent Krul and MCCA Julie Kavanagh led the EVUS press conference which was attended by more than 50 Chinese media outlets across the country. In addition to describing EVUS enrollment requirements that will take effect in November 2016, presenters confirmed that the 10-year visa is here to stay and expressed excitement that the increased travel offered by the 10-year visa has resulted in 2.7 million non-immigrant visas issued to Chinese travelers since November 2014.
