Feb. 2, Shanghai – Shanghai Political/Economic Section Chief Bill Duff hosted an airing of the Super Bowl Game for an audience of over 50 fans. Duff kicked off the event by introducing the basics of American football and took questions throughout the game. The audience of mostly young Chinese professionals asked about game rules, how the uniforms are made, possible injures, and ticket costs. Participants jumped at the opportunity to take photos next to life-sized cutouts of the two team’s quarterbacks that were on display; and they departed with a better understanding of the Super Bowl’s importance in the U.S. and how the big game brings family and friends together.
