Deputy Secretary Blinken: Thank you, State Councilor, and I have to say that we share your assessment of the success of President Xi’s visit. I think we demonstrated again to the world that we can cooperate in a very meaningful way: in ways that advance the interests of American people, Chinese people, and people around the world. Our hope now is to follow through on the momentum that was generated by that visit, to make concrete progress on the various commitments that were made, both in deepening our cooperation, but also in managing and addressing our differences. I think, as we look around the world, it’s also evident that there are so many challenges that would benefit from the United States and China working closely together, and we look forward to doing that. I just have to say, on a personal note, that I’m grateful to be received personally by you. I thought you’d be tired of me, since we sat next to each other at lunch and at dinner, during President Xi’s visit. It’s wonderful to see you.
