Jan. 7, Shanghai – In a joint effort, PAS and the Agricultural Trade Office produced a video to promote American Week from Jan 8-12 on Tmall, China’s version of Amazon.com. The event was designed to entice local consumers to purchase American products for preparation during the Chinese New Year. 500-600 lucky customers who purchased American seafood and pork products during the promotional period won an in-home dinner prepared by a local chef. The video was sponsored by American Pistachio Growers and featured a Chinese New Year’s greeting from their spokesperson Marina Inserra, Miss California 2014, as well as a greeting from CG Smith. The video resulted in over 150k views on the mission’s social media sites.
