Jun. 18, Shanghai – Economic Officer Arati Shroff moderated Lean In Shanghai’s annual career development panel for over 100 young, female Chinese millennials and spoke about how to cultivate the necessary skills to navigate an international career, across cultures, continents, and generations. Established and up-and-coming Chinese entrepreneurs and senior executives exchanged views on how Chinese women can better manage up, receive recognition for their workforce contributions, and resolve workforce challenges related to cultural differences. The room was abuzz with questions from Chinese women on how to better move up the corporate ladder and get their voices heard in a work culture that is still more male-dominated, especially at the senior levels. While not present at Saturday’s event, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and author of the self-help Lean-In book met with Lean In Shanghai the day before to honor them with a special award.
