Chairman Kim reiterated on his trip he is fully prepared to denuclearize. He recommitted that they will not conduct missile tests, that he will not conduct nuclear tests. Those are good things. Those remain as a pillar, as a foundation.

On North Korea, we just left Chairman Kim. We had a really, I think a very productive time. We thought and I thought and Secretary Pompeo felt, that it wasn’t a good thing to be signing anything. I’m going to let Mike speak about it. But we literally just left, we spent all day with Kim Jong Un, who is, he’s quite a guy and quite a character and I think our relationship is very strong. But at this time, we had some options, and at this time we decided not to do some options. And we will see where that goes. Read more.

“President Donald J. Trump of the United States and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea had very good and constructive meetings in Hanoi, Vietnam, on February 27-28, 2019. The two leaders discussed various ways to advance denuclearization and economic driven concepts. No agreement was reached at this time, but their respective teams look forward to meeting in the future.”
