Jan. 21, Shanghai – Deputy Principal Officer Mark Tesone spoke to an audience of 50 viewers of President Obama’s 2015 State of the Union address. Before the viewing, DPO Tesone spoke to the audience about U.S. federalism, the two-party system, and the history of the address. During the discussion, audience members asked about U.S.-China trade and competition, American political engagement and voting, and partisan politics. Tesone explained the competing political philosophies held by Democrats and Republicans which afforded the audience an opportunity to learn about the American democratic process in an interactive format.
