In August, Non-Immigrant visa appointments at the Consulate General in Shanghai may be limited. We encourage all travelers, especially students, to apply for their U.S. visas today. Students may apply for their F1 visa up to 120 days before the start of their academic program. Tourists and business travelers (B1, B2 and B1/B2 visa applicants) should schedule their visa appointments as soon as possible. The Consulate will continue to prioritize appointments for student visa applicants, urgent business travel, and those traveling to the United States for humanitarian or medical reasons. To avoid delays or disappointment, all travelers should schedule their visa appointments immediately. Visit www.ustraveldocs.com for more information on how to apply and to make an appointment, or to request an expedited visa appointment.
