‘Chopped’ Star Marc Murphy Showcases the Flavor of July 4th

In collaboration with the State Department’s Diplomatic Culinary Partnership program as well as Post’s Foreign Commercial Service (FSC) and Agriculture and Trade Office (ATO), Public Affairs supported the visit of acclaimed restaurateur and celebrity chef Marc Murphy. His itinerary included a roundtable with culinary students from two local schools, a visit to an open-air “wet market” with young Chinese chefs, and the launch of ATO’s “Culinary Bootcamp” program, which will connect Chinese culinary students with American mentors. The trip culminated with Murphy, the star of the hit Food Network Series Chopped, leading a live cooking demo for over 500 guests during Post’s July 4th celebration.
