On March 10-11, U.S. Consulate Wuhan joined a delegation led by U.S. Charge d’Affaires David Rank to Henan Province to participate in the launch of a clinical trial led by U.S., Chinese, and South African researchers aimed at better predicting the treatment outcome for tuberculosis.
The delegation toured a hospital in Kaifeng, Henan Province, that will participate in the clinical trial, met with Henan Vice Governor Wang Yanling (王艳玲), and joined the opening ceremony of an international tuberculosis conference.
The United States’ health partnership with Henan Province dates back to the 1980s and has helped save lives and improve treatment for esophageal cancer, HIV/AIDS, and tuberculosis.
