On April 25, 2015, a Consular Officer from the United States Consulate General in Chengdu will be at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chongqing to provide limited consular services, including applications for passport renewal, additional passport visa pages, and notaries. We will also be available to answer questions or address any concerns you have should you wish to make an appointment just to speak to an official from the Consulate. Please note that initial passport applications for someone who has never been issued a U.S. passport will not be accepted. There are a limited number of available slots for each visit, so appointments must be reserved ahead of time. Please include your full name and which specific service(s) you require. We will send you an email confirmation with your appointment time, the location of the hotel, and our contact information for that day.
Please note the Consular Officer will have no change available and cannot keep any over payment, so exact change for the service(s) is required. Fees are listed below:
- Passport Book Renewal – Adult (over 16 years old): $ 110.00 / ¥ 693
- Passport Book Renewal – Minor (under 16 years old): $105.00 / ¥ 661.5
- Additional passport visa pages: $ 82.00 / ¥ 516.6
- Notarial and Marriageability Services: $ 50.00 / ¥ 315
- Lost/Stolen Passport – Adult (over 16 years old): $135/¥850.5
- Lost/Stolen Passport – Minor (under 16 years old): $105.00 / ¥ 661.5
A small number of required forms will be available, but it is suggested that you download, print, and fill out any required forms yourself. These are all available on our website.
Also, please bring originals and photocopies of all materials you will be submitting, as we will not be able to make copies at the time of the service. The hotel has a business center where you can make copies for a small fee, but please make all copies prior to your appointment time to avoid unnecessary delays.
For some of these services, your supplemental materials may have to be brought to Chengdu for processing. If this is the case, they can be returned to you via local Chinese SF Express mailing service. Please note that mailing through SF Express is done at your own risk, as we cannot guarantee SF Express service. Alternatively, you or a person you designate can come to pick up your documents at the U.S. Consulate General in Chengdu during regularly scheduled American Citizen Services office hours: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
